IoT Year in Review 2025: Smart Housing and Utilities
2025 was a breakthrough year for IoT adoption in housing and utilities across Ukraine. What used to be seen as a luxury is now a standard for savings and safety.
Top 3 changes this year
Surge in remote meter reading — housing cooperatives and managers are actively switching to smart modules.
Rapid growth in safety sensors — demand for smoke, leak, and window sensors tripled.
Mobile-first user experience — residents want real-time data on their phones, not on paper bills.
Tech that became mainstream
In 2025, “smart home” moved from luxury to necessity. LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, and BLE became more affordable, and both public and private developers began integrating IoT infrastructure into turnkey projects.
AZIOT’s role in the transformation
AZIOT connected over 70 new buildings and facilities across 12 Ukrainian regions in 2025. Our clients include residential complexes, water utilities, heating companies, and housing cooperatives. Our platform enabled:
an average 17% reduction in water usage,
response times to incidents under 5 minutes,
transparent resource monitoring for residents.
In 2026, we aim to expand these capabilities even further.
